What changed
Tenerife's island government announced that access to paths, tracks and trails in protected natural areas, along with camping and recreation areas and the entrances to Barranco de Masca and Barranco del Infierno, will be restricted from 00:00 local time on 8 November 2026 because of Storm Bruna.
Does this affect me?
Visitors planning protected-area hikes, camping, outdoor recreation, canyoning or climbing excursions in Tenerife will face the announced restrictions. Travelers with reservations for Barranco de Masca or Barranco del Infierno should not expect access while the restrictions remain in force.
What should I do?
Do not enter the affected protected-area trails, forest tracks, camping areas or named ravines from midnight on 8 November. Contact excursion providers about rescheduling, check official access updates and wait for the Cabildo to lift the restrictions before attempting affected activities.
