What changed

The National Weather Service upgraded its coastal surf advisory to a high-surf warning for the Clatsop and Tillamook coasts of Oregon and the south Washington coast, with breakers up to 33 feet forecast for Sunday.

Does this affect me?

Visitors to exposed beaches and coastal viewpoints around Astoria, Seaside, Cannon Beach, Tillamook, Long Beach and Ocean Park. Destructive surf and sneaker waves can sweep people from beaches, rocks and jetties, while coastal erosion could damage access areas.

What should I do?

Reconsider Sunday beach walks, razor-clamming and exposed coastal activities. Stay well back from the surf, avoid jetties, rocks and driftwood, and follow local warning signs and access restrictions.
