What changed
On November 6, the City of Coahoma issued a boil-water notice for public water customers on and east of Salem Road, including Coahoma, because chlorine residual levels were low while the inside of a water tower was being recoated. The city's notice indicated that the precaution could last two to three weeks.
Does this affect me?
Residents and visitors using the City of Coahoma public water system at properties on or east of Salem Road, including accommodation guests and customers of affected businesses. The notice does not establish restrictions for water customers west of the specified boundary.
What should I do?
Use bottled water or bring tap water to a vigorous rolling boil for two minutes and allow it to cool before drinking, cooking, making ice or other consumption-related uses. Confirm that your accommodation or destination uses the affected water supply. Continue precautions until the city explicitly rescinds the notice; the two-to-three-week estimate is not a confirmed end date.
