Published:
What changed
JR East has canceled all Gono Line trains between Noshiro and Goshogawara in both directions for November 7 because of forecast strong winds. Some trains on the adjacent Higashi-Noshiro–Noshiro and Goshogawara–Hirosaki sections are also canceled. JR East will not provide replacement transport.
Does this affect me?
Passengers traveling along the Gono Line between Akita and western Aomori, including visitors planning scenic rail journeys along the Shirakami coast, cannot travel by train between Noshiro and Goshogawara on November 7. Passengers on adjoining sections may also encounter cancellations.
What should I do?
Replan November 7 journeys rather than attempting to travel through the suspended section. Arrange alternative ground transportation independently, check individual train cancellations and consult JR East for ticket changes or refunds. Check November 8 operating information before planning onward travel.
