What changed

The National Weather Service upgraded its surf advisory to a high-surf warning for Washington's northern coast and Grays Harbor County coast, effective from 10 p.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Sunday PST.

Does this affect me?

Beach visitors, coastal hikers, surfers, razor-clam diggers and visitors to exposed jetties or coastal viewpoints around Neah Bay, La Push, Ocean Shores and Westport. Dangerous breaking waves can sweep people into the ocean, while erosion could affect coastal access.

What should I do?

Remain out of the water and well back from the surf zone. Avoid exposed jetties, piers, driftwood and coastal structures. Respect barriers and locally posted access restrictions during the warning.
