Cameroon: Arriving passengers may face Ebola-related temperature screening at Yaoundé and Douala airports
Published:
What changed
On 6 November 2026, the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office updated its Cameroon travel advice to warn that passengers arriving at Yaoundé-Nsimalen International Airport and Douala International Airport may be required to undergo thermal screening in response to the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Does this affect me?
International passengers arriving at Yaoundé-Nsimalen International Airport or Douala International Airport may encounter temperature screening during arrival processing. The guidance does not establish that every arriving passenger will be screened or specify when the screening arrangements first became operational.
What should I do?
If arriving at either airport, be prepared to follow instructions from airport health personnel and cooperate with any requested temperature screening. Check current entry and health-screening guidance before departure, as arrangements may change at short notice. The announcement does not establish a new universal pre-departure test, health declaration or quarantine requirement.
