UK warns Cameroon arrivals of possible Ebola-related screening at Yaoundé and Douala airports

What changed
On 6 November 2026, the UK updated its Cameroon travel advice to warn that passengers arriving at Nsimalen International Airport and Douala International Airport may be required to undergo thermal screening because of the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The advisory does not establish that screening procedures were first introduced on 6 November or that every arriving passenger will be screened.
Does this affect me?
Passengers arriving at Yaoundé-Nsimalen International Airport or Douala International Airport may encounter temperature screening during arrival processing. The warning is particularly relevant to travelers preparing to enter Cameroon through either airport.
What should I do?
Be prepared for possible temperature screening on arrival and follow instructions from airport health personnel. Check current airport and airline advice before departure because screening arrangements can change at short notice. Do not interpret the UK advisory as introducing a new universal testing, quarantine or vaccination-document requirement.
