LaGuardia replaces thunderstorm ground stop with arrival delays extending into November 7

Published:

What changed

The FAA canceled LaGuardia Airport's thunderstorm-related ground stop and introduced an arrival ground delay program covering November 6 from 14:00 UTC through November 7 at 02:59 UTC. The program assigns controlled departure times to affected flights.

Does this affect me?

Passengers flying into LaGuardia from the contiguous United States and the Canadian airports included in the FAA program: Halifax, Ottawa, Montreal, Toronto Pearson, Toronto Billy Bishop and Quebec City. Affected flights may receive revised departure times. The FAA advisory specified an average assigned delay of 33 minutes and a maximum of 113 minutes.

What should I do?

Confirm your airline's latest assigned departure time and check any onward connections before leaving for the airport. Cancellation of the earlier ground stop does not mean unrestricted arrivals: flights covered by the replacement program remain subject to departure-time controls. Monitor updates throughout the program period.
