What changed
JR East has canceled all Uetsu Main Line trains between Sakata and Akita in both directions throughout November 7 because of forecast strong winds. No replacement transport will be provided on the suspended section.
Does this affect me?
Rail passengers traveling between Yamagata and Akita prefectures via the Sakata–Akita section, including travelers using the Japan Sea coastal railway corridor and passengers with intercity rail connections.
What should I do?
Rebook or reroute November 7 journeys that require travel between Sakata and Akita. Check individual limited-express bookings and onward connections. Arrange alternative ground transport independently because JR East is not providing substitute service for the suspended section.
