What changed

On November 5, Ecuador's infrastructure ministry restored passage at kilometer 90 of the E582 Cuenca–Molleturo–El Empalme highway after clearing material from a renewed landslide.

Does this affect me?

Drivers, interprovincial bus passengers and freight operators using the Cuenca–Molleturo–El Empalme corridor have regained passage through kilometer 90. The reopening of this location does not establish unrestricted travel across the entire E582.

What should I do?

Passage through kilometer 90 may resume, but check the latest E582 road-status information before departure. Drive cautiously through the affected area and remain alert for continuing restrictions elsewhere on the highway.
