What changed
A blizzard and visibility below 100 metres prompted a restriction on all vehicle traffic on the Nogliki–Okha section of the Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk–Okha federal highway, km 630–855, from 09:30 Sakhalin time on 7 November 2026.
Does this affect me?
Motorists, intercity bus passengers and commercial vehicle drivers planning to use the Nogliki–Okha highway section in northern Sakhalin. The all-vehicle restriction prevents passage along this approximately 225-kilometre section.
What should I do?
Do not attempt the closed Nogliki–Okha highway section. Postpone road journeys until an explicit reopening announcement is issued. If already in the affected area, contact local emergency dispatch services for road conditions and information about available warming points.
