November 6 Tokyo overnight ferry misses Mikurajima and Hachijojima because of rough seas
Published:
What changed
Tokai Kisen canceled the Mikurajima and Hachijojima calls of Tachibana Maru service 3400, departing Tokyo at 22:30 JST on November 6, because of poor sea conditions following Typhoon 31. The associated November 7 departures from those islands toward Tokyo were also canceled. The ship served Miyakejima, so the entire voyage was not canceled.
Does this affect me?
Passengers booked to travel from Tokyo to Mikurajima or Hachijojima on the November 6 overnight sailing, together with passengers expecting to depart those islands toward Tokyo on November 7.
What should I do?
Rearrange journeys involving Mikurajima or Hachijojima and confirm subsequent sailings directly with Tokai Kisen. Check alternative transportation separately rather than assuming that another island connection is available. Do not treat the canceled island calls as cancellation of the ship's Miyakejima service.
